Prizes

The Shine School Media Awards reward our winners with a mix of awards to take away with you and experiential prizes which are handed out at our awards ceremony at Stationers’ Hall in the City of London each summer, to which all nominees are invited.

Please note: there will sadly be no physical awards ceremony in 2020, but the competition will proceed online.

These include;

  • All winning entries will receive a handsome engraved plaque to keep
  • A framed certificate for runners-up
  • A masterclass with author and Daily Telegraph journalist Professor Simon Heffer and senior journalism lecturer Dr Glenda Cooper from City University London
  • Winners of the Best Newspaper, Best Magazine and Best Online categories will be invited to a workshop at the London office of tes
  • One-day workshop with Anna Bassi of The Week
  • A day with PrintWeek editor Darryl Danielli
  • One day printing masterclass at Heidelberg
  • A mentoring day with Neil Jones at global packaging manufacturer BOBST
  • A winners workshop with the British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF)
  • Online training modules from the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ)
  • A hardcover photography book from Getty Images for the photography prize winners
  • Additionally, judges will award the Harrison Cup for a particularly special entry, according to their own criteria determined on the day of the final judging of entries
