Register with us to get started

So we can get to know you, your plans and your project, we ask that a project leader, usually a teacher or Head of Department, drop us an email at

Once that is in hand we will quickly acknowledge receipt and your Shine journey will begin.

We will keep you fully up-to-date with what is happening as well as providing support material you might need to produce the best possible edition of your magazine (in print or as a PDF), newspaper, podcast or website.

Shine 2020

There will sadly be no physical awards ceremony in 2020, but the competition will proceed with a presentation that nominees can join online. The deadline of Friday 8th May 2020 now has an EXTENSION to FRIDAY 15th MAY.

We are accepting printed, digital and even partial entries this year.

Nominees will be invited to an online presentation and also advised of their success on this website on Monday 29th June.

Fill out your entry form

When you are registered and your project is complete, download the entry form below – either as a PDF or Word doc.

The entry form sits alongside your finished project on the judging days and is your ‘voice in the room’.

A strong entry form means the Shine judges understand what your plans were at the outset, the challenges you faced along the way and why you are so proud of the finished project. It also means you can give a shout-out to the team (including your teachers!) who worked so hard to make it all possible.

There are a wide range of categories to enter – but you only need to enter one to be in with a chance of winning.

Don’t forget, all entrants will be judged for ‘Best Magazine’, ‘Best Newspaper’ and ‘Best Online’ (as relevant), so you won’t need to fill out an entry for those. There are also other awards, not listed on the entry form, which you are entered for automatically and these are given at the judges’ discretion.

If you have any questions or need help, just email us at

Good luck!
