The Shine School Media Awards 2024 deadline is almost here

Hello everyone,

This is a brief one today: it’s the last round-up and call for entries before we hit the deadline for the Shine School Media Awards 2024!

We’ve covered a lot of ground over the last six months, with the aim of helping your students build the best possible entry, and I hope it has been useful. But now the time has come: it’s the moment to submit your entry. We can’t wait to see them!

At the end of the Spring Term we put together a list of hints and tips for finishing your entry, in particular talking to often-ignored categories that you might have a strong chance of competing for. Have you taken a look?

And what about our designated topic this year – sport? I am really hoping that we get some left field entries here, maybe articles about leftfield student sporting passions, viewpoints on the Paris Olympics or perhaps some amazing photojournalism…?

It has been a turbulent time in the world since we launched this year’s awards back in September. Students have such strong voices talking to their depth of feeling on controversial issues and I am sure these will be covered a lot. As always, the judges will be fascinated to hear the viewpoints of the next generation.

Then there’s our maverick ‘Scoop of the year’ newcomer award. Who’s going to get the inaugural exclusive? Let’s see…
