This is the last call for Shine School Media Awards entries for 2026

Dear teachers,

The entry deadline for the Shine School Media Awards 2026 is this Friday, 1st May.

Whatever your students have been working on this year, it deserves to be seen. Our judging panel includes industry professionals at the top of their field, and they’re genuinely looking forward to discovering what’s out there in schools.

If you’re not sure your entry is polished enough, or whether your format (magazine, newspaper, video, audio, or even something unexpected) fits the bill, submit it anyway. That’s our job to decide, not yours. We’ve been surprised before, in the best possible way.

Winners get newsroom visits, mentoring from senior journalists and work experience opportunities that money genuinely can’t buy. It could be a career-defining moment for a student who doesn’t yet know what they’re capable of.
