Happy New Year! I hope the holiday refreshed you all for the new term and an exciting 2019.

Our New Year’s resolution here at Shine is to make our competition categories and the entry form more inclusive, clear and user-friendly this year. With this in mind I’m excited to announce that we’ve have re-defined the following categories:

• Best Design and Layout has been re-named Best Print and Design
• Best Feature has changed to Best Stand-Alone Piece
• Best Business Strategy has changed to Best Marketing Strategy

It’s the week before Christmas, and everyone is looking forward to having some time at home with their families.

Whichever community we live in, this holiday is traditionally a time for people to get together and share their common values.

With the Christmas shopping season upon us, everyone is thinking about what to give to everyone else. But how about something you win for your school and yourself…?

Let’s cut to the chase, the Shine School Media Awards has some fantastic prizes.

At our Shine awards day this summer, runner up in the Best Feature Article category was awarded to Issy Clarke from Tarporley High School.

Her prize was a masterclass with the legendary Daily Telegraph journalist and long-time friend of the Shine School Media Awards, Dr Simon Heffer.
