At this year’s Shine Awards, Alice Audley, the editor-in-chief of Blogosphere magazine (and one of our judges), gave our keynote address.

In addition, Alice generously wrote us an inspiring piece which was published in our Winners Book. We loved what Alice wrote and feel it deserves a wider audience, so we reproduce it here.

Our nominees came from far and wide to Stationers’ Hall this week and we were thrilled to see the photos and messages popping up all over Twitter before, during and after the big day on Monday.

It’s always terrific when our Shine winners appear in the local and national press – and we’ve just heard from Bill Bowkett from the Knight’s Templar School that they’ve been featured in their local paper, The Comet.

I am so delighted to welcome you today to Stationers’ Hall and this year’s Shine School Media Awards. At the Stationers’ Company all of us look forward to this day as it’s a chance to show off our magnificent Hall (everyone calls it Hogwarts when they visit for the first time!) and share it with you.
