The Autumn Term is here and as we launch the new season of Shine, our Chair Alison Strachan reflects on an extraordinary year – and what comes next.

At Shine 2020, the team at Bromsgrove School entered their publication Two Zero One, which was created entirely during April’s Covid lockdown. The project was enormously successful, winning among several other awards Best Magazine.

Here, Editor of the Year winner Vivianne Zhang Wei tells us about her experience entering Shine – and how Two Zero One happened. The article is accompanied by two original illustrations by team member Jule Sturz.

At the Shine School Media Awards 2019, Drapers Academy student Feranmi Babajide won our ‘Shine Scholar’ prize, the highest accolade we give to a student each year.

Part of Feranmi’s prize was a day working at the Daily Mail with consulting editor Liz Hunt. Here, Feranmi writes about her experience.
